Connect The Dots

So-ooo, first thing’s first. Bestival has added Tune-Yards, MNEK, Wolf Alice, Jessy Lanza, MØ and The Amazing Snakeheads to its 2014 line-up, which prior to this latest influx featured Outkast, Foals, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, Beck, Busta Rhymes, Candi Staton, Sven Vath and Chase & Status. Which is still does, by the way, only now with the extra acts. Hurrah!

News now of imminent Sheffield fest Connect The Dots, a “celebration of contemporary arts, digital multimedia, music and technologies”. And live ‘soundscapes’, too, created by the likes of The Human League’s Martyn Ware, Darkstar, Fatima Al-Qadiri and My Panda Shall Fly. Taking place over two days in late-May, this year’s ‘Contact’-themed CTD also includes a variety of label stalls, exhibitions, workshops and talks from Algorave’s Alex Mclean, Dropr.com’s Bruno Cyrankiewicz, and Bruno Zamborlin of Mogees. And guess what, tickets are free, and available via ctdots.co.uk

Stand by for updates just made to Latvian indie/dance event Positivus, this year’s City Showcase-affiliated Soho Flea Market (which donates its profits to a local charity, the Soho Family Center), the inaugural Third Rail, and Sweden’s Way Out West…
