First up, some dates. Coachella 2014 currently has no bands (presumably they haven’t reformed yet), but it does have dates: 11-13 Apr and 18-20 Apr. Put those in your diary. Or don’t.

And an update on a shrinking line-up now. Or several, in fact, as Soulwax have decided to cancel all planned festival performances in order to finish work on their new album. In a statement, the band said: “We’ve decided to postpone our Soulwax shows over the summer so we can get our new record properly finished and have it released soon. Sorry to all of you who were looking forward to seeing us but we’d rather give you a good show and a good album. The good news is 2manydjs will replace some of the shows. We look forward to seeing you all this summer!”

It’s not entirely clear which slots will be filled by 2manydjs, but the festivals affected are: Oxegen in Ireland, The Secret Garden Party in the UK, Sonar in Spain, Optimus Alive! in Portugal, Melt! In Germany and Pukkelpop in Belgium.

Over to expanding festivals, AEG Live’s new Hyde Park-based British Summer Time events have just ingested a load more acts, with Elton John, Lionel Richie and Jennifer Lopez amongst those joining the party.

In addition to that, a new pop festival has been announced for Brighton, called SD2. So far it only has two acts confirmed, but when those acts are The Saturdays and The Wanted, what more do you need? Wait, don’t answer that. Aimed at a younger audience, it will offer a free bus service to and from the site, and all be over by 9pm.

SD2 promoter Matt Priest told CMU: “We’re delighted to launch SD2 to Brighton and Sussex. We have assembled some of the best pop acts the UK has to offer; The Wanted are a global phenomenon and The Saturdays have established themselves as the country’s biggest girl band”.

As well as that, Magic Summer Live, Electric Picnic, T In The Park and Tramlines are amongst the events which have just added new artists to their line-ups, as you can see below:
