Fiona Apple spends night in jail for drug possession

Fiona Apple spent a night in a Texas jail this week, causing a planned concert in Austin to be postponed, after border patrol officials found cannabis on her tourbus. Police say the singer “freely admitted” that the drugs were hers when they were found by sniffer dogs. She was charged with drug possession, and spent some time in custody at the Hudspeth County Jail before being released on $10,000 bail.
