Frank Ocean’s brother Rickrolls fans awaiting album number two
By Andy Malt | Published on Tuesday 4 August 2015
So, if you’re one of those people just sitting there wondering quite when the hell you’ll be getting the brand new album from Frank Ocean, promised last month but, as I write this, still to appear, well, I bet you love his younger brother Ryan Breaux don’t you?
Because he posted a photo to Instagram this weekend with the line “It’s finally out! Link in my bio” And what was he linking to? Yeah, this. Because that never gets old, does it?
While everyone was getting over that little shock, something strange started happening over at Frank Ocean’s official website. A visit to frankocean.com will now redirect you to boysdontcry.co, which for several hours yesterday was just a Shopify holding page promising that more would be “coming soon”.
Most people assumed that what was coming soon was a full Shopify online store selling copies of that new album, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, and associated merch. But most people were wrong, because what is now there is a semi-functional website, the main feature of which is information on the weather and time in your local area.
I’ll tell you what, I’m starting to side with Miguel on this one.
