GM role created at Elektra label
By Chris Cooke | Published on Wednesday 4 February 2015
Now, if I had a label called Elektra Records for just one day, the first thing I’d do is create the job of General Manager and appoint Gregg Nadel to do it, so well done Warner Music, you win the prize. But I’d eat it today. It’s very close to its use by date.
So yes, Warner Music’s Atlantic Records division in the US has appointed Nadel – a long-standing exec at the company – to the newly created job of GM within its Elektra imprint. He’ll report into LA-based Elektra President Jeff Castelaz, though will continue to be New York based himself.
Confirming the appointment Castelaz told reporters: “[Gregg] is an agile, tenacious exec who can feel a hit a mile away – which makes him the natural choice to stand beside me as the new Elektra gains momentum. His arrival on the Elektra team heightens our ability to deliver for our artists on all levels, which is the only thing that matters”.
