Dan Le Sac

When Scroobius Pip was off gallivanting around the place with his debut solo album last year, you might have thought his production partner Dan Le Sac was resting on his laurels. You would be wrong though, he was merely biding his time. Well, that and putting together his own solo album, ‘Space Between The Words’, which is due for release via Sunday Best on 9 Jul.

The first track to be released from the album, ‘Play Along’, which you can hear below, earmarks ‘Space Between The Words’ as an album to get very excited about indeed. One of a vast array of guests on the record, it features vocals from Sarah Williams White (whose own new single ‘If I Smile At You’ was released last week and is worth a listen), whose voice plays against Dan’s techno-influenced production beautifully.

With the album release still a frustrating distance away, Dan will more than make up for this wait with a show at this year’s Great Escape festival, closing Friday’s proceedings with a 1.30am set at Concorde 2. The venue’s full line-up for the night was curated by Le Sac himself, and he’s not made things easy for himself booking two brilliant support acts, Karin Park and Nathan Fake, but if the live video of him performing his remixes of The Maccabees’ ‘No Kind Words’ and Joy Division’s ‘Warsaw’ is anything to go by, he’ll be alright.
