Images released of Amy Winehouse statue

Photos showing the design of sculptor Scott Eaton’s commemorative Amy Winehouse statue have been released online via the Evening Standard. First proposed back in November, the life-sized bronze effigy will, providing Camden Council sanctions it (which it’s still to do), be placed at the Roundhouse in North London, a mile away from the flat in which Winehouse died in July 2011.
The late singer’s father Mitch says he intends to unveil the statue at a memorial gala show in 2014, adding: “The reason why there will hopefully be a statue of her at the Roundhouse is everyone loved Amy. She was a strong girl who had weaknesses. Even the strongest people have them. Amy was a wonderful person, who did a lot for Camden and for kids. She was one of the greatest singers the world has ever known so why shouldn’t we put a statue up?”
