The BPI and UK Trade & Investment have published the latest list of recipients in their joint Music Export Growth Scheme.

As previously reported, the scheme offers grants of between £5000 and £50,000 to UK music companies – including labels and management agencies – to aid international touring, artist promotion and music projects.

Dry The River, Imogen Heap, The Wytches, Hadouken and Fink are all on the list of artists and bands set to benefit from the scheme’s third cycle, which coincides with recent stats released by the BPI indicating that British acts’ international appeal is still on a high, with one in eight LPs sold worldwide credited to a Brit act.

John Kennedy, Chair of the Music Export Growth Scheme, says this: “As we announce the results of our recent round of funding and move to our new invitation for applications we are beginning to see the results of this commitment by the government to our industry”.

He continued: “We are seeing the money being successfully used as seed money to launch or build on international careers, whether by way of sales or synchronisation licences, live appearances, expanded profile or strategic promotional activities – indeed the variety of uses that successful applicants are making of the funds is itself a testament to the innovation that these grants can drive, enhance and encourage”.
