Katherine Jackson has reportedly requested that the visitor’s log from the jail where Conrad Murray is serving his time for causing the death of Michael Jackson be subpoenaed for the upcoming Jacksons v AEG Live court case.

According to TMZ, the Jackson matriarch, who is leading the family’s litigation against the promoters of the ill-fated ‘This Is It’ show that the late king of pop was preparing for when he died in 2009, wants to see if any reps from AEG have visited Murray since he was incarcerated.

Assuming that request is real, it’s not entirely clear to what end the Jackson’s legal reps would want that information, though they, of course, are trying to show in court that AEG should be held liable for the actions of the negligent doctor because it employed him. AEG counters that it only paid Murray’s bills, and that Jackson himself hired and managed the medic, and it’s possible that the Jackson family’s reps want to try to show the live firm had a closer relationship with Murray than they admit.

The Jacksons plan to call Murray to testify in the court case, though he is likely to resist participating in the hearing, using the Fifth Amendment to avoid having to speak. Meanwhile a legal rep for the doctor said that any efforts to claim there was any kind of dodgy relationship between AEG and her client would fail, because no such relationship existed.

Valerie Wass told TMZ: “I believe the subpoena is a rather desperate, last minute attempt by counsel for Katherine Jackson and the children to try and find or create a surreptitious relationship between Dr Murray and AEG. There is and has been no such relationship”.

As previously reported, jury selection is now underway in the Jacksons v AEG case.
