James Arthur “not a homophobe anymore”
By Andy Malt | Published on Monday 13 January 2014
James Arthur is no longer a homophobe. The former ‘X-Factor’ winner confirmed the news at a show in Edinburgh last week.
According to The Guardian, the singer introduced new single ‘Get Down’ at the Scottish capital’s Usher Hall on Thursday by saying: “This one will hopefully get played on the radio, cos I’m not a homophobe anymore”.
As previously reported, Arthur came under fire last year when he released an online ‘diss track’ calling rapper Micky Worthless a “fucking queer”. His onstage comments last week were no doubt intended to be tongue-in-cheek, he having previously explained that his diss track lyrics were not, in fact, homophobic at all. Though similar lyrics from Worthless were. Just so we’re clear.
