James Murdoch to join Vice Media board, says Independent
By Andy Malt | Published on Friday 22 November 2013
It’s been a while since James Murdoch has been able to suck the coolness out of anything, the last occasion being his involvement with Rawkus Records over a decade ago. But that might all be about to change, as The Independent reports that Murdoch Jnr is set to join Vice Media’s board as a director.
As previously reported, Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox took a 5% stake in Vice Media earlier this year, a $70 million deal giving Vice a valuation of $1.4 billion. Although his reputation was tarnished by the phone hacking scandal at his father’s UK newspaper division, James does still have various senior roles within his family’s companies.
