Jamie Cullum signs to Universal/Island
By Andy Malt | Published on Friday 15 February 2013
Jamie Cullum has signed a new record deal with Universal/Island, it was announced yesterday. The news was accompanied by the launch of the jazz musician’s new single, ‘Love For $ale’, from his forthcoming fifth album. A rework of Cole Porter’s ‘Love For Sale’, it was produced by Dan The Automator and features guest vocals from Roots Manuva.
Commenting on the deal, Island President Darcus Beese told CMU: “Jamie Cullum is without doubt one of the most talented musicians and enduring artists this country has produced in years. At our first meeting it quickly became clear how excited and genuinely delighted Jamie was to be signing to Island Records. He also happens to be one of the most genuine and charming people in the business”.
