Janice Long mugged for Bunnymen backstage pass
By CMU Editorial | Published on Tuesday 11 October 2011
A woman has been charged with robbery following an incident in which Radio 2 presenter Janice Long was mugged for her a backstage pass to an Echo And The Bunnymen gig.
The attack actually took place after the gig at the London Palladium on 27 Sep had finished, as Long was arriving at nearby Broadcasting House to present her radio show. The Daily Mail reports that she was punched in the face by her assailant, who then only took the pass. Although the show was over, it still granted access to the afterparty.
Speaking on her show the day after the robbery, Long said: “There was a bit of an altercation. I was attacked on the way in to the show after being at a gig. Yesterday involved dealing with the police and having to go to an ID parade. It was very strange”.
Last week a 51 year old woman was charged with robbery and remanded in custody until her next court appearance on 8 Dec.
