The annual week-long BRIT Awards warm-up, BRITs Week, will return again next month, raising money for War Child. There will be various shows from nominees (and non-nominees) around London, plus one in Manchester to prove that the music industry isn’t totally focussed on London.

“This year War Child turns 25 and has helped hundreds of thousands of children cope with the devastating effects of war”, says War Child’s Head of Music, Entertainment & Development, Liana Mellotte. “Since our first music fundraiser, it’s amazing and very humbling for us to be working with some of the world’s best music talent a quarter of a century later. It’s testament to the musicians who generously donate their time and talent to stand up for the rights of children in the most horrendous circumstances”.

Among this year’s performers are Jessie Ware, Rag N Bone Man, Wolf Alice, The Vamps and Laura Marling.

Says BPI and BRITs boss Geoff Taylor: “BRITs Week is one of my favourite times of the year, when an eclectic mix of brilliantly talented artists come together in the exciting run up to the BRIT Awards to raise money and awareness for children whose lives are shattered by war, and at the same time celebrate the wonderful diversity of British music”.

He goes on: “This year we have an amazing ten gigs on eight nights, when we as fans can enjoy intimate performances from outstanding artists, while being reminded of the incredible power of music to do good and to help change people’s lives for the better. We are THRILLED to be supporting War Child on its 25th anniversary”.

If you want to be in with a chance of attending any of the shows, you’ll need to enter a prize draw and bung War Child a fiver. The opportunity to do that opens at 9am on Friday at www.britsweekwarchild.co.uk.

But when and where are the shows, and who the hell will be playing? Don’t worry, I’ve got a list. Here it is:
