Cooking Vinyl is looking for an Accounts Assistant (maternity leave cover) to join the team.

Main Purpose of Job:

To prepare the records relating to all purchases of the Company, including expenses and credit cards
To assist the Royalty team with the preparation of quarterly and bi-annual artist royalty statements
To assist the Finance Director with projects that may arise that are suitable to level of experience
To assist other departments when necessary, under the supervision of the Finance Director

Tasks will include:

Posting purchase invoices, obtaining approvals and appropriate coding of invoice as per Purchase Order log
Preparing bi-weekly Company payment runs
Circulating supplier remittances as required
Inputting monthly payroll payments on bank
Daily review of bank balances, matching payments to invoices and reconciling bank account on QBs

Month End management accounts: 
Bank account reconciliations
Posting credit card transactions and reconciling statements
Processing costs from distributor
Intercompany transfers of Artist costs

Costs and advances reporting to Royalty accounting:
CV Limited and CV America – monthly
CV Publishing – biannually
Prepare and circulate recoupable costs for review by product managers
Review royalty statements for accuracy of costs reporting

Prepare payment list of royalties due bi-annually, obtain any missing payment information, raise self-billing invoices and distribute to Artists
Manage credit card accounts for staff
Ad hoc queries and reports, as requested by Finance Director

Skills, attitudes and behaviours required
Minimum of two year’s experience in an Accounts team
Numerate, with an attention to detail
Previous use of Quickbooks desired but not essential
Ability to multi-task and to be able to change the plan in order to accommodate urgent matters
Good use of time management
Ability to demonstrate effective communication with staff and team members, both written and verbal
Ability to work to deadlines
Ability to work well with others
Keen interest in the Music industry
