Job ad: Material – Marketing Manager (London)

By | Published on Friday 19 June 2020

Material is focused on building outstanding artists and music brands, mainly in the electronic space. To aid in the expansion of our growing roster of artists and brands we are seeking an exceptional, results-focused marketing individual to power the business forward and deliver for our artists. We are a small but passionate team who believe in the artists and brands we work with.

We require three year’s minimum marketing / record label / artist focused experience and a proven understanding of how to deliver successful marketing campaigns to drive interest, engagement and digital sales. Having a deep understanding of the digital and social landscape, including analysis of data and metrics to inform strategic decisions, is imperative. Taking a short and long term view of artists is also key to the role. The right candidate will be able to build our brands as well as recognise and manage opportunities within the wider music business landscape.

Central to the role is being our brand’s guardian and each of their creative direction. You will work alongside the A&R team and assistant to deliver campaigns from conception to execution and evaluation. From a day to day perspective this varied and artist focused will require an individual with all round skills. Any day may include social schedules, radio & PR plans, retail activity, launch events, commissioning music videos, artwork management, business development and partnerships.

A strong network will stand you in good stead to bring ready-made opportunities to the table to deliver effective campaigns. We are looking for a team player, but also someone who can work individually and drive projects from the front. While creativity is key it must work alongside an eye for numbers and understanding data’s role in informing decisions alongside managing budgets.

The wider brands, artists and business all require a strategic as well as creative approach with marketing at the front and centre of our growth plans. We function mainly in the electronic space – our brands include Back to Mine, Future Disco, Stress and Needwant; so having a knowledge, passion and understanding of this genre would be an advantage.

At Material, our team brings energy and passion to everything we do and we support our company values – creativity, partnerships, education and innovation. We are based in Elephant and Castle at Ministry of Sound offices, though working virtually in the short term. We have a flexible approach to working from both home and office and take employee development very seriously with a genuine focus on education and development.

This role is possible to be full or part time.

Salary based on experience.
