Job ad: Patterns – Programming and Promotions Manager (Brighton)

Patterns is the go-to destination to experience forward-thinking music in Brighton. The venue is a revered safe space for music culture, holding a multitude of creative events across all genres. Mothership Group are looking for diligent and experienced individual with a passion for music, events and nightlife to take on the club programming and promotions for the site, which has recently hosted acts such as Four Tet, Jarvis Cocker, Hunee, Honey Dijon, Conducta and many more.

This role will programme, maintain and promote an originaland exciting program of music led clubbing events for Patterns, overseeing the overall creative direction of the venue and managing key relationships with external and internal stakeholders. 



• Book and promote a full programme of mid-week and weekend club events for Patterns, working to budgets. Seeking out new promoters and collaborators whilst maintaining current relationships.
• Full responsibility of club calendar, leading all event confirmations, on-sales and announcements. Working closely with the venue’s live and corporate programmers.
• Ensure all events are advanced at least three weeks ahead, providing the team with all information needed for event delivery.
• Line management of Promotions Assistant.
• Meet with the Patterns management team weekly.
• To oversee management of in house sub-contracted technicians.
• Manage all aspects of artist liaison; and gather feedback from artists, agents and managers to secure future business and grow reputation.  


• To manage the venue’s outsourced PR team, monitoring their output and relationships with media partners.
• Responsible for overseeing the promotion and digital marketing of Patterns and all its respective events. 
• Keeping close track of ticket sales with venue promotions assistant, reporting to venue management and flagging any shows that are below projections. 
• Overseeing all design of venue promotions with external designers.
• To maintain and manage website content with the help of team

Essential skills

• A minimum of two years working in a similar role(s).
• Established agent and artist contacts.
• Experience in event budgeting, production and delivery.
• A drive to push diversity and representation in music, with a proven ability to work with people from a varied range of backgrounds.
• Experience in digital strategy and social media management.
• Someone who loves going out and has an interest in discovering new music.
• A strong understanding of the local, national and international music scene.
• Highly organised and efficient, someone who is methodical with their work.
• A creative thinker, with excellent interpersonal skills.

Desirable skills

• A strong understanding of regional and student-led markets.
• Experience of working within a multi-use events venue.
• Basic-intermediate experience in Photoshop, InDesign, Mailchimp & project management tools.
• Video editing skills.
• Line management of junior Promotions staff.

Location: Based at the venue in Brighton
