Based in Holborn, London, Raymond Gubbay Ltd – a leading promoter and producer of popular classical music, dance and special events – is seeking to appoint a full time enthusiastic Event Manager to join its busy Events department.

The company regularly presents over 500 events a year in London and around the UK and the successful candidate will have both day-to-day responsibilities and an over-arching involvement in many projects. 

The role will require a dedicated and motivated individual to support and work closely with the Head of Events and the rest of the Events team to deliver a diverse and exciting range of concerts and shows throughout the year. The candidate will ideally have a strong understanding of the classical music world and knowledge of the agents, singers and performers currently working within the industry.

Core responsibilities

• To work with the Head of Events in casting/engaging artists and performers for an extensive and varied range of events.
• To manage relationships with clients, venues and agents, continuously discussing, exploring and planning future projects.
• To work hands-on both in the office and venue environments, leading on the execution of concerts and specific projects through the company’s busy annual season, including, but not limited to, preparing technical riders, procuring quotes from external suppliers and liaising with venues. 
• To create, implement and manage multiple large scale budgets for a wide range of projects, from one-off concerts to extensive tours and international projects. 
• To actively develop new concepts and relationships with suppliers and venues.  
• To regularly attend and manage concert performances around the UK, acting as a representative for the company. Much of the company’s work is at weekends. 

Skills and requirements   

• The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, driven and reliable individual with a passion for detailed planning, live performance and with proven experience of working in the music industry.
• A thorough, up to date knowledge of classical music, current artists, vocalists/singers and instrumentalists. 
• Experience of creating and working with budgets. A high-level of proficiency in Excel is expected. 
• A confident manner and the ability to show initiative when working both independently and as part of a small team.
• Good attention to detail and phone manner with excellent written and communication skills. 
• Able to manage a number of concurrent projects and meet appropriate deadlines as required. 
• The position involves evening and weekend work, with both domestic and occasional international travel.

The ability to drive (with valid UK drivers licence) preferred. 

Job title: Event Manager     

Salary: Up to £34,000 dependant on experience

Location: Based in London with some requirement for travel

Position: Full-time

Benefits: Company pension scheme

Holiday: 20 days per annum
