Justin Timberlake to perform at Eurovision Song Contest
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 11 May 2016
People often wonder why more big name artists don’t appear at the Eurovision Song Contest. Well how about Justin Timberlake? He’s pretty big, no? And he’ll be performing at this year’s event. OK, not in the actual competition, but you can’t have everything at once.
Timberlake will be the interval entertainment during the grand final of this year’s competition in Sweden on Saturday, performing new single ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’. This coincides with the event being broadcast on US TV for the first time.
“This is a fantastic opportunity, we are very happy and excited that Justin Timberlake will perform his new song together with his band in our show”, says the producer of this year’s Contest, Sven Stojanovic. “It makes it extra special that the Swedish songwriters Max Martin and Shellback have co-written and co-produced the song together with Justin Timberlake”.
The first semi-final in this year’s contest took place last night, with the second scheduled for tomorrow.
