Single Review: Kap Bambino – Red Sign/Acid Eyes (Because)

By | Published on Monday 16 March 2009

Kap Bambino

Kap Bambino sound exactly as their name suggests – feisty, deliriously unhinged, yet slightly cute at the same time. The angry, turbo-charged DIY electro punk of both ‘Red Sign’ and ‘Acid Eyes’ speeds down a similar road, into a white hot yet cheaply neon-lit landscape. Thankfully there’s enough melodic suss at hand to elevate the whole thing into the realms of POP! Packed with uncompromising synths, tinny drum machine beats, hellish vocal shrieks and an assault of white noise that sounds like a horde of vengeful motorbikes on crack, Kap Bambino sound like Helen Love in a 100mph motorway pile up with The Prodigy, Sheep On Drugs, Alec Empire, early Bis and a truckload of misfiring old synths. And that may not sound like a good thing, but it is. MS
