Kid Cudi leaves GOOD Music
By Andy Malt | Published on Thursday 4 April 2013
Kid Cudi has left Kanye West’s GOOD Music label, he announced in an interview with LA radio station Power 106 on Tuesday.
Cudi said: “I’m announcing that I’m no longer on GOOD Music. And this is something that no one knows really. I’m no longer on GOOD Music. Me and Kanye were talking on the phone the other day. These have been things I wanted to talk to him about, about me wanting to start my own direction. He got it because he’s trying to start his new path, and trying new things as an artist. He was just like, ‘Man, I feel you. It’s cool. Whatever'”.
The rapper’s new album, ‘Indicud’, which features guest spots from Kendrick Lamar, RZA, A$AP Rocky, Father John Misty, Haim and… Michael Bolton, is due out on 23 Apr. It will (as has always been the plan) be released through his own label, Wicked Awesome Records, which is an imprint of Universal/Republic.
