Kobalt announces new neighbouring rights signees
By Chris Cooke | Published on Monday 20 January 2014
The neighbouring rights business of the Kobalt company, or Kobalt Neighbouring Rights if you prefer, announced a stack recent signings last week.
As a result of the new deals Kobalt will now collect and manage neighbouring rights income for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Ben Howard, Charli XCX, Ella Eyre, Family Of The Year, Flume, Icona Pop, John Newman, Josh Homme, Kevin Parker, Jessie Ware, Neil Finn, Paloma Faith, Passenger, Taio Cruz, Zedd and super producer Paul Epworth.
Confirming all this to CMU, KNR’s MD Ann Tausis told CMU: “In a relatively short time KNR has built up a client list that blends established acts and emerging talent, from all different territories, and these new signings continue that trend. It’s an honour to be working with so many world class artists”.
And if you’re still wondering, a little bit, exactly what neighbouring rights are, then don’t forget all will be explained at Maximising Music Rights, the first of six CMU Insights-programmed strands due to take place at The Great Escape convention in Brighton in May – more info here.
