Kobalt denies NIN information leak
By Andy Malt | Published on Monday 8 August 2016
Kobalt has issued a statement about claims that Nine Inch Nails are about to release a new single, as Trent Reznor saying that they are “not true” was apparently not enough for some people.
The rumour spread that a new single called ‘Dive And Slam’ was to be released in September after a Reddit user posted an image showing details of the release claiming the picture was a screengrab of Kobalt’s internal database.
However, the company told Billboard: “Kobalt Music dismisses any claims related to a recent hoax where falsified information and images of a fictitious Nine Inch Nails release were posted on the web. As an established leader in both music and technology, Kobalt maintains the highest standards of security, integrity, and transparency in the industry”.
