Korn go dubstep
By CMU Editorial | Published on Friday 1 April 2011
Well, I suppose it was inevitable that something like this would happen eventually. And it’s very easy to completely write it off without giving it a proper chance. So that’s what I’m going to do. Korn are working on incorporating dubstep into their new album, which will almost certainly be completely contrived and awful.
I am basing this all on a 24 second clip posted to SoundCloud by frontman Jonathan Davies yesterday. He begins the clip by eloquently announcing: “What’s up, everybody? It’s JD. We’re getting ready to fuck some shit up again. Check this shit out. It’s new shit…”
He then treats fans to a brief burst of heavy dubstep, before shouting “YEAH!” and signing off.
But, hey, while it may not bode well for the new Korn album, it is a cool use of SoundCloud’s recently-launched record function on its iPhone app. More of this please.
