Kylie Minogue plays East London pub
By Andy Malt | Published on Friday 14 February 2014
Kylie Minogue ‘pulled a Prince’ and played a surprise show in a small London venue last night.
Minogue took it even more low key than Prince though, turning up at an evening that had been billed as a ‘Kylie karaoke night’ at the Old Blue Last pub in Shoreditch to perform three songs, including new single ‘Into The Blue’, and another track from her new album ‘Kiss Me Once’, called ‘Les Sex’. The other track, if you were wondering (you were), was ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’.
Earlier in the day, the singer also appeared at Spotify’s London HQ to perform an acoustic set, featuring the same tracklist, plus another new track, ‘Beautiful’, which on the album is a duet with Enrique Iglesias. Enrique didn’t turn up to sing his part. Lazy.
In a Q&A following the Spotify performance, Minogue said of her new material: “I feel reinvigorated, having fresh energy and fresh ideas, and merging that with the history I have. You don’t want to mess with the foundations but definitely put something new on top”.
‘Into The Blue’ is released on 9 Mar, followed by ‘Kiss Me Once’ a week later on 17 Mar. Watch a video of Kylie’s performance of ‘Into The Blue’ last night here:
