A book of letters written by John Lennon will be published next year, according to the LA Times. Yoko Ono is reportedly working with official Beatles biographer Hunter Davies on the compendium of letters, postcards and drawings, which were originally sent to various people during Lennon’s lifetime. The book is due to be published in October 2012 via Little, Brown.

Elsewhere in Beatles news, the first ever recording and publishing contracts signed by the Fab Four are due to go under the hammer after they were found in Switzerland earlier this month. The contracts were signed in Hamburg in 1961by Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, original drummer Pete Best and Bert Kaempfert, an arranger and producer working for the band at the time. It’s thought the documents could fetch up to fifty grand when they are auctioned off this Thursday.
