Awards
Liverpool to host MOBOs
By CMU Editorial | Published on Tuesday 8 June 2010
Organisers of the MOBO Awards have announced this year’s event will take place in Liverpool. The black and urban music awards left London for the first time last year, being held in Glasgow. Organisers have opted for Merseyside for 2010 after one music fan – seventeen year old Ben Osu – set up a Facebook group calling for the MOBOs to come to Liverpool.
Confirming Liverpool would be this year’s host city, MOBOs founder Kanya King told reporters: “We are all very excited about celebrating the MOBO’s fifteenth birthday in Liverpool and bringing the awards to this vibrant city”.
The 2010 MOBOs will be held at the Liverpool Echo Arena on 20 Oct, with nominations due to be announced in September.
