M83 to re-issue first three albums
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 23 July 2014
M83 is to re-issue his first three albums next month, plus a couple of EPs featuring remixes and B-sides in September.
Actually, listening to 2001’s ‘M83’, 2003’s ‘Dead Cities, Red Seas, And Lost Ghosts’ and 2005’s ‘Before the Dawn Heals Us’ in one sitting is interesting in that it allows you to clearly track producer Anthony Gonzalez’s development into the far more successful form fully realised on his 2011 fifth album ‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’.
Then, depending on your view, you can either be glad that he stopped with all that droning nonsense or mourn the loss of something far more interesting that the crap he churns out now. Just so long as we all agree that ‘Before The Dawn Heals Us’ is his best work.
The three albums will all be re-released on 25 Aug. Then on 8 Sep will come three EPs featuring remixes and B-sides associated with each album, including work by Jackson And His Computerband and Boom Bip, amongst others.
