Marianne Faithfull cancels shows after breaking back

Marianne Faithfull has announced the cancellation of several upcoming performances, revealing that she broke her back last month.
One show in Lebanon and two headline performances in the US next month, along with an appearance at an Edith Piaf tribute show in New York, have been cut.
In a statement about the Beirut show, Faithfull said: “I broke my back in July and hoped and prayed I would be better enough to be able to do the performance on 17 Aug, although it’s not very long, but my recovery was going well. Alas. I have never been to the Lebanon though I know it through books. It looks like one of the most beautiful places in the world”.
Faithfull is currently recovering at her home in Paris.
