Marketing in the spotlight with CMU+TGE today
By CMU Editorial | Published on Friday 10 May 2019
The final of this year’s three CMU+TGE Conferences continues at The Great Escape in Brighton today with a full day focus on music marketing, sponsored by the BPI.
As you read this, we’ll be talking about the ever-expanding music marketing toolkit, and where press, radio, TV, social, playlists, influencers and advertising fit into the mix. Plus how do you create the mountain of marketing content you now need and what do you do with all the data?
This afternoon the conversation will turn to how label-led marketing campaigns – both frontline and catalogue – are evolving. We’ll look at how all of an artist’s business partners need to work more closely together to get the most out of marketing campaigns. And then, bringing the proceedings to close, Cassandra Gracey of Sony’s 4th Floor Creative will be in conversation.
Saturday sees O2 Presents: DIY Academy take over the TGE Conference programme, with panels galore for those at the start of their music careers. That includes six Elevate Seminars presented by CMU:DIY offering concise insights and lots of practical advice on social, streaming, direct-to-fan, gigging and music rights.
Also tomorrow, CMU will present the traditional Heroes & Villains session in conference room two at Jurys Inn Waterfront at 5pm. Back for its eighth year, H&V sees leading music industry executives talk through the highs and lows of their careers to date – and reveal the heroes and villains they met along the way. It’s the perfect way to wrap up the TGE Conference for another year.
