Mastodon countdown ends early, or late, or something
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 12 January 2009
You’d think in this day and age it would be fairly easy to design a countdown timer for a website that actually worked. Seemingly not.
When I wrote a story about US metallers Mastodon’s website displaying a countdown last week, I decided not to mention the fact that while I had been seeing 64 days on the timer, our American correspondent was seeing two hours. Mainly because, after two hours, his screen started showing 64 days too.
Anyway, this is a very long winded way of saying that none of those times was correct, because on Friday, a new website revealing the release date of the band’s new album, ‘Crack The Skye’, replaced the countdown. Which is at least what I suggested it might be counting down to.
So, to hear a pointlessly short snippet of a new track and learn that the album will be released in the spring, go to www.mastodonrocks.com. Or you could just stay here and be a little less underwhelmed.
