McCabe departs revamped Parlophone

Kevin McCabe is departing Warner Music, according to Music Week, just a few weeks after he was appointed SVP Media of the newly combined Parlophone/Warner Bros UK division.

As previously reported, following Warner’s acquisition of what was the Parlophone side of the old EMI UK record company, the label has been allied with the Warner Bros UK unit, both of which will now report into Miles Leonard, a long time EMI UK exec (albeit with overall Warner UK chief Christian Tattersfield retaining a co-overseer role with Warner Bros).

Although the Parlophone and Warner Bros teams will, in the main, remain separate, they will both be overseen by a combined top team led by Leonard with – according to the original plan – McCabe, another former EMI exec, coordinating media activity.

But he has now confirmed to Music Week that he has departed Warner. The reason for his departure so soon after the announcement of Leonard’s top team isn’t clear, while he told Music Week it was “still too early to say” what he would do next.
