Bosses at TeamRock, the all new DAB-based rock radio station due to launch next month, have announced that Metal Hammer Editor In Chief Alexander Milas will present a show on the station each weekday evening.

The show will be one of the ways that the new TeamRock venture will integrate its broadcast and press interests, it having – as previously reported – also acquired both Metal Hammer and Classic Rock from Future Publishing.

Milas previously presented a show on Rock Radio, the former GMG Radio-owned station that was run by TeamRock co-founder Billy Anderson. Other former Rock Radio presenters, or DJs from its successor Real XS, are expected to appear on the new national digital radio service.

Commenting on his new show, Milas told reporters: “We’re planning the Letterman of radio programmes. Think Peel meets PBS with a David Lee Roth soundboard and you’re halfway there. We’ll be talking to artists, industry and most importantly fans to a soundtrack of unsigned and major world-beating acts that make metal the fire breathing monster it is today. Horns up!”

Meanwhile TeamRock’s Head Of Radio, who goes by the name of Moose, added: “We are building an incredibly talented and passionate team. The only way we will achieve our goals is by involving great people and every member of our team is great in their own right. This unique schedule offers output that will appeal to all rock fans. Whether it’s metal, classic, current or new rock music TeamRock Radio will deliver a service listeners will love. It will mirror TeamRock’s magazine titles and create a bridge between press and broadcast… complete with the troll underneath”.
