MGMT and Of Montreal team up

MGMT’s Andrew VanWyngarden and Of Montreal’s Kevin Barnes have announced that they are teaming up for a side project, called Blikk Fang. The pair are reportedly working with producer Jon Brion, who has worked with the likes of Kanye West and CMU favourite Fiona Apple.
Barnes told Rolling Stone: “Me and Andrew Andrew VanWyngarden from MGMT have a project together I really want to get off the ground in 2009. The stuff we’ve done so far is sort of a soulful prog. We’ve actually created about 20 minutes of music”.
“We’ve both been travelling like crazy so it’s hard to get together. It’s kind of fun because that stuff we did months and months ago and when we get together again, we’ll have different ideas that we’re excited about. It’s probably gonna be a pretty schizophrenic, crazy album”.
