Gigs & Festivals Releases

MJ Hibbett announces one pub tour

MJ Hibbett & The Validators are set to release a new compilation of rarities, entitled ‘The Forest Moon Of Enderby’, on 18 Oct through the Artists Against Success label. As well as the twelve tracks on the album, shoving the disc inside a computer will reveal 23 more, which is a pretty good deal.

Normally the release of a new album would be accompanied by a tour to promote it, but some members of The Validators have moved abroad since last they did such a thing, making it a little difficult. Luckily, Hibbett has a plan. He’s going out on a three month tour, which will see him play just one venue – his local pub.

He’ll play two gigs a month from October, with some special guests, at The Lamb on Lamb’s Conduit Street in London, which will be recorded and made available as free podcasts via www.totallyacoustic.com.

Hibbett told CMU: “Doing the shows as podcasts is a fantastic new way to tour. It allows thousands of people to enjoy relaxed and intimate performances, while the performers themselves get to go home to their own beds afterwards. Everyone’s a winner!”

The dates and guests are these:

11 Oct: Gavin Osborn and Dr Neil Brown
26 Oct: Winston Echo and Pete Green
8 Nov: Frankie Machine and The Bobby McGees
23 Nov: Dave Green and Jenny Lockyer
7 Dec: Keith TOTP and Tim Eveleigh
21 Dec: Chris T-T and Andy from Pocketbooks
