More neighbouring rights clients for Kobalt

Kobalt’s neighbouring rights business – Kobalt Neighbouring Rights – last week confirmed another list of new clients, including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lenny Kravitz, Akon, Sean Paul, Foxes, Steve Angello and Art Garfunkel.
KNR helps artists (and some labels) manage the royalties they are due from the public performance of recordings they were involved in, all artists being due a direct cut of that income in many countries in addition to any share of what the label receives when recordings are used on radio, at events or in public spaces.
Confirming the latest list of big name artists to sign up to Kobalt’s neighbouring rights services, KNR MD Ann Tausis told CMU: “This year has already seen our client list grow rapidly with the addition of many prominent acts, and we’re delighted to be able to count these artists among them. Their international appeal makes them an ideal fit for our services and we look forward to working closely with them to realise their neighbouring rights revenues”.
