Morrissey advises Katy and Russell not to wed
By CMU Editorial | Published on Monday 2 August 2010
If I wanted some marriage advice, I’ll tell you one person I wouldn’t speak to: Morrissey. But that’s what Russell Brand and Katy foolishly did. Okay, I’m not sure they specifically asked for his opinion, but you’ve got to expect these things if you have him over for tea, haven’t you?
Perry revealed that she met the former Smiths frontman, apparently a friend of her future husband, for the first time when they had tea together recently. She told The Sun: “He’s Russell’s mate and he is fascinating but he was giving us a hard time about getting married. He swooned and sighed, ‘Oh, left hand third finger, don’t do it’. It was just so eloquent and poetic and like one of his songs”.
Despite this, she said he is still invited to the wedding: “It would be great to have him at the wedding but I told him, ‘We can’t have a Mr Misery like you messing things up'”.
