Media firm News UK has announced the first collaboration between its core newspaper business and its new radio division; the British subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp having bought TalkSport and Virgin Radio operator the Wireless Group earlier this year.

That collaboration is The Scottish Sun Xmas Radio, a temporary service available online and also on DAB in parts of Scotland, playing all your favourite Christmas tunes, and possibly all the ones you hate as well.

Says Wireless Group’s Terry Underhill: “We want to sprinkle some Christmas magic across Scotland and The Scottish Sun will be providing the soundtrack for the 2016 festive season. From midday on 21 Nov until midnight on 27 Dec, we’ll be broadcasting The Scottish Sun Christmas radio station”.

Merry Christmas one and all.
