The writer of the recent Notorious BIG biopic ‘Notorious’, Cheo Hodari Coker, has been hired to adapt Bill Adler’s Run-DMC biography ‘Tougher Than Leather: The Rise Of Run-DMC’ into a film. Adler, who is the group’s former publicist, and Coker will also act as executive producers on the film.
Dallas Jackson, president of DJ Classicz, the company producing the film, told Hollywood Reporter: “It’s an extraordinary rags-to-riches journey that I’m eager to bring to the screen. And I’m hoping to have Run, DMC and Russell Simmons’ involvement. This will be a big movie about the 1980s hip hop movement that took over the world”.
