Obama bumped for more weighty Jessica Simpson story

Us Weekly magazine has been criticised for bumping an Obama cover story and splashing instead with breaking news regarding Jessica Simpson putting on weight.
A family portrait of the Obamas was due to appear on the magazine cover until the big Simpson story broke. Simpson, of course, is busy trying to relaunch herself as a country singer, which may or may not be why she’s a little heavier than before.
Asked about being bumped by a plump Jessica on The Today Show, Obama remarked: “It’s a little hurtful. A weight battle, apparently. Yeah. Oh well”. If it’s any consolation, Simpson wasn’t too pleased with the article on her weight either.
