Of Montreal outline new album, re-issue old ones on cassette

Of Montreal are to release a new album entitled ‘Paralytic Stalks’ next year. Speaking to Pitchfork about the LP, frontman Kevin Barnes cited “modern classical music” as a main influence, also describing the new oeuvre as “still very much a colourful pop record” with some “funky elements”. Elsewhere in Of Montreal release news, the long-time Polyvinyl signings have announced plans to reissue their first ten albums in good old cassette format. Limited to 500 hand-crafted boxsets, each coming with a full set of MP3 downloads too, the collection will be available to buy as of 25 Oct via Joyful Noise. More details here.
