Warner Chappell and NLess Entertainment have signed a joint publishing administration deal with producer Turn Me Up YC, covering his full catalogue and future works. “I appreciate Warner Chappell and NLess Entertainment for the opportunity to take my career to the next level”, he says. “I want to be a motivation to everyone back home in Moscow, Tennessee, and Fayette County, that anything is possible when you believe in yourself and put God first”.

APPOINTMENTS

Michelle Jubelirer has been promoted to chair and CEO of Universal Music’s Capitol Music Group in the US. She has been COO since 2015 and also became President in 2020. “Michelle is a highly experienced executive and inspiring leader who has been integral to the success of Capitol Music Group since we relaunched the company nearly ten years ago”, says overall Universal CEO Lucian Grainge. “She is a fierce advocate for artists, a savvy deal maker and a hands-on builder of partnerships within the industry and creative communities”.

Universal Music has promoted Tom Lewis and Laura Monks to become co-Presidents of Decca Records Group. “Laura and Tom are exceptional leaders who complement each other brilliantly”, says Universal UK CEO David Joseph. “They are perfectly placed to steer the legendary label into this exciting new chapter with both their creative vision and fearlessness to do things differently”.

Air Studios has appointed former Head Of A&R Administration And Recording at Island Records, Nikki Affleck, to the role of Head Of Mastering. “Nikki is perfect for this role because she combines a thorough understanding of the recording and mastering business with extensive music industry contacts”, says Senior Mastering Engineer Barry Grint. “We are very lucky to have her on the team, particularly at this crucial time in our development”.

Gill Mansfield has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the PRS Members’ Council and board. “I am looking forward to working with the PRS Members’ Council and board, continuing their diligent work on behalf of the songwriters, composers and music publishers that PRS represents”, she says.

Animal Collective are back with new single ‘Walker’, taken from their upcoming album ‘Time Skiffs’, which is out on 4 Feb.

Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland has revived his Big Dumb Face solo project for new Christmas album, ‘Christmas In The Cave Of Dagoth’. From it, this is ‘Lost In A Forest Of Christmas Trees’.

Napalm Death will release new mini-album, ‘Resentment Is Always Seismic – A Final Throw Of Throes’, on 11 Feb. From it this is ‘Narcissus’.

Team Me have announced that they will release their first album for seven years, ‘Something In The Making’, on 12 Mar. Here’s new single ‘Just Another Sleepless Night In The Dark’.

GIGS & TOURS

Metallica will livestream their two upcoming 40th anniversary concerts on Amazon Prime. If you’re in the UK, that will mean a 5am start. Bad luck. UK time, the shows will take place on 18 Dec and 20 Dec.

The initial round of BRITs Week charity shows in aid of War Child have been announced. Performing in February will be Anne-Marie, Joy Crookes, Bastille, Becky Hill, Maisie Peters, Mimi Webb, Craig David and Damon Albarn. Tickets go on sale on Friday here.
