Outkast back to work, possibly on new LP
By Aly Barchi | Published on Wednesday 15 January 2014
So, hip hop’s #1 odd couple Outkast – aka Andre 3000 and Big Boi – are back on, having taken some time (seven years, in fact) to do things apart.
The pair’s peace-making in 2014 neatly makes it an even 20 years since their very first LP, ‘Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik’, was released. And, perhaps, may signal the release of a brand new LP, if their ex-manager Queen Latifah’s heavy hint has any real weight to it.
Revealing via FB that they’ll play over 40 festivals this year, not least their already-confirmed appearances at States-based events Coachella and the Governor’s Ball, Andre 3000 added: “Returning to the stage together is the most exciting way for us to thank everyone for their 20 years of supporting Outkast”.
Big Boi, meanwhile, chipped in with: “I’m looking forward to rocking the stage with my Bro Ski and to all the fans – stank you smelly much, this is for y’all!”
