Peaking Lights explain new disc Cosmic Logic
By Aly Barchi | Published on Tuesday 19 August 2014
Man-and-wife psych-pop types Peaking Lights, aka Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis, are releasing a set of eleven “lean and lithe” tracks titled, as a body, ‘Cosmic Logic’.
“Designed” and refined by Coyes and Dunis themselves over eighteen months at their LA studio, it is set to be released via Domino’s Weird World on 6 Oct.
Pondering Peaking Lights’ “whole thing”, Coyes says: “It’s always been based on an idea of ‘fucked modern pop’ but exactly what that is, we don’t know… we’re still trying to figure that out”.
Well here at least is one thing that makes sense (kind of), the ‘Cosmic Logic’ tracklisting:
Infinite Trips
Telephone Call
Hypnotic Hustle
Everyone and Us
Little Light
Dreamquest
Eyes To Sea
Bad With The Good
New Grrrls
Breakdown
Tell Me Your Song
And finally, experience the LP’s wavy lead single ‘Breakdown’ first via its own tailor-made site, which moves as the track does, or simply listen in now:
