Justin Bieber has made some people angry. I know, it seems unlikely that Justin Bieber 2.0 – aka the world’s nicest guy – could do such a thing, but it’s happened.

Animal rights group PETA has condemned the singer for attending a party in Toronto put on by his father at which a live tiger was present. Instead of pointing at the tiger and saying, “Hey dad, it’s really not cool to have a live tiger at a party”, he posted a picture of himself stroking the tiger to Instagram.

Bieber’s father and the owner of Bowmanville Zoo, which for some reason loans out tigers for parties like this one, have also come in for criticism. Though Justin is obviously the better target to ensure press coverage. Look, here’s some right here.

“Exotic animals used for entertainment are usually torn away from their mothers at a young age, beaten into submission by trainers, and forced to live in cramped enclosures”, said PETA in a statement. “Tigers used in this way are denied everything that they need to be happy, and we can only imagine that the tiger Justin posed with has experienced a life of misery”.

It is, of course, not Justin Bieber’s first run in with animal welfare campaigners. Back in 2013, the old JB received a monkey for his birthday while on tour in Europe. When he failed to produce the correct paperwork to bring the animal into Germany shortly afterwards, he abandoned it, leading to much criticism.
