PETA criticise Britney’s circus
By CMU Editorial | Published on Wednesday 10 December 2008
PETA have released a statement criticising Britney Spears for featuring tamed lions and elephants in the promo for her new single ‘Circus’.
The animal rights group claim that Spears continued to make the video even after they had explained to her “in graphic detail how trainers shock, whip and beat exotic animals into performing”.
PETA Director Debbie Leahy says: “Britney may think her life is a circus, but for the animals who are whipped, chained, and beaten to perform under the real big top, the cruelty is very real”.
