Pink Floyd reunion chatter resumes thanks to Waters

Oh, the will they won’t they reform Pink Floyd story, I can’t help thinking that this one will continue even when everyone ever formally associated with the band is dead and buried. Anyway, Roger Waters has now indicated he is considering another one-off reunion show for the band after recently playing a low-key charity gig with ex-bandmate David Gilmore. The band (minus Syd Barrett, of course) last put former differences aside to play at the Live 8 concert back in 2005.

On his now better relationship with Gilmore, Waters told Rolling Stone: “Things have gotten better since [Live 8] between David and I. We don’t see each other socially – he very much lives in the middle of the countryside in England, and I very much live in Manhattan, so our paths don’t cross, but, when we end up being in England, we’ll probably have dinner… [and] there’s no fussing and fighting going on. David and Nick and I might do a one-off [show] somewhere, but there’s no way we’re going to do a tour… [Maybe] like a Live 8 but probably just with us. It’s such a shame that we didn’t get around to it before Rick died”.

Keyboardist Rick Wright died in 2008, while Barrett, only a member of the band in its very early days, died in 2006.
