Plan B returns to rap, says label not happy

Plan B has been speaking about his next album, which, he now says, will definitely see him return to rap. He previously said in early August he would turn his back on the soul sound of his recent hit album once current tour and promotional commitments were through, though then later the same month he told another reporter he wants to make another ‘Strickland Banks’ album.

But now it seems something more hip hop is definitely the plan, even though his label, Warner’s 679 division, aren’t so keen about that move. So much so, he says he’s considering putting his next record online for free without the company’s backing.

He told Metro: “I might release it for free. I’m not doing a long campaign for this one. I’m not going to water down my hip hop. I’m not going to do what radio want. That’s selling out. I want to swear and talk about fucked up shit. If I want to talk about something radio won’t play, why should that stop my creativity?”
