Rounding up the latest release news…

I don’t know what time it is where you are, but it’s free mixtape o’clock in De La Soul‘s world, as the NYC hip hop trio show their esteem for late great beat-maker J Dilla by releasing the eleven-track ‘Smell The DAISY’, which samples various beats Dilla made in life. Download the comp and only the comp via BitTorrent here, or as a package also featuring JD tribute film ‘Still Shining’ here, and savour one of its tracks, ‘Dilla Plugged In’, while those queue up:

Signed to the Sacred Bones label, which is always an automatic plus, one-man Scandinavian taskforce Hannes Norrvide, aka Lust For Youth, has just announced a forthcoming album titled ‘International’. He trailed its release, which will be on 9 Jun by the way, earlier this week via its radiantly chilly lead single ‘Epoetin Alfa’, which is available to stream right here:

Hip hop-favouring Mancs producer Lone has an LP of his own to talk about, too, in the form of ‘Reality Testing’, which is arriving via R&S Records on 16 Jun. In lieu of a song from it, since none are out at the minute, you can look at its cover art AND dig once more into ‘Dream Ache’, the free MP3 he gave away as a New Year’s Eve present:

Finally, and for anyone that missed ‘Lydia’ last month, it’s over to another producer, this time Kompakt-signed London DJ Dauwd (pictured), who’s let go a second preview (post ‘Lydia’ I mean) of ‘Kindlinn’, the tri-track twelve-inch EP he’s releasing on 7 Apr. Hear ‘Lydia’ and its fresh-revealed B-side, ‘Rain Raker’, here. Lydia, Lydia, Lydia.
