Syrian singstar Omar Souleyman kicks off today’s release highlights in style with the surreal new clip signifying his track ‘Warni Warni’, which is taken from his Four Tet-mixed new LP, ‘Wenu Wenu’. Tune in (tune in) here:
Passing on the baton to Scottish alt-rap mans Young Fathers (the band, that is) now, and the news that they’ve already set the date for a new album, despite only releasing one in ‘Tape Two’ earlier this year. The new set, ‘DEAD’, will be available via Big Dada/Anticon on 3 Feb 2014. Its lead track, ‘LOW’, is streaming in the meantime, right here:
Closing us out it’s folk songwriter and all-round man-of-the-world Jake Bugg, who has a new promo out, directed by Shane Meadows, for his truly gritty new single ‘Slumville Sunrise’. It features Elvis, a shell-suit, and some very fine acting, so watch it as prep for the 18 Nov release of Jake’s new LP, ‘Shangri La’, here:
